Background & Identity
Aura Beinhaven was a senior wingleader at Basgiath War College, known for her strong leadership skills and unwavering focus on survival. She was a highly skilled rider but also had a reputation for being rigid in her tactics and prioritizing caution over strategy. She was deeply distrustful of fliers (griffin riders), which caused tension in certain missions.
Despite her rank and experience, Aura often struggled with fear and paranoia, which became a defining trait in high-stakes situations. Her anxiety about being caught off guard led her to wield prematurely during a mission, which had devastating consequences.
Physical Appearance
Aura’s exact physical features are not described in great detail, but she was noted to be physically fit and carried herself with authority. She was capable of commanding a presence among her peers, though she sometimes let fear dictate her actions.
Dragon
Aura was bonded to Dagolh, a Red Clubtail dragon. Red Clubtails are known for their brute strength and defensive capabilities, often favoring powerful physical attacks over elemental abilities.
Signet Power
Aura was a fire wielder, capable of producing flames similar to dragon fire. However, her ability was highly volatile when mixed with her fear-driven instincts, making her dangerous to allies as well as enemies.
Personality & Flaws
Aura was a pragmatic and disciplined rider, but her fear of venin and wyvern often led her to reckless actions. She demanded readiness at all times, even when it was strategically unwise. This need for control led to several moments of tension with Violet Sorrengail, who resisted Aura’s orders when they conflicted with mission success.
Aura’s fatal flaw was her inability to control her panic under pressure, which ultimately led to her downfall.
Death
Aura Beinhaven died during an ambush by wyvern forces. During a mission, she became overwhelmed by fear and attempted to flee toward safety. However, just as she was about to reach her dragon, a wyvern intercepted her mid-run and impaled her through the spine with its talons, killing her instantly before carrying her lifeless body into the sky.
Her death was a stark reminder of how fear could be as deadly as the enemies they fought. Even with experience and skill, a single moment of hesitation or miscalculation in battle could result in catastrophe.
